Thought i'd stick up a bit of a mini project thread for the xsi 16v i bought recently, was in the forsale seciton here and caused a fair bit of intrest. now the 205's down at sandys for a few weeks gives me a space in the workshop to crack on with the old girl, will mainly be tidying up the car, possibly afew goodies on it if they come up cheap, 4 branch, pugsport, rallye steels etc.

since buying the car ive changed the unmatched wheel bolts for a set of cyclone bolts, fitted a fuel cap, replaced the number plates with pressed steel one, removed the amp wiring thats under the carpets, volt gauge removed from the dash, 6x9's from the parcel shelf and started to tidy it up.

a pic the day after i bought it, sat outside the workshop, ill get some pics later when im up there

im in two minds with which direction to go in, weather to try and really tidy it up, or too leave it abit "rough round the edges", strip it and fit aset of buckets. Either way it propably be foresale in the forthcoming months.. need to fund the 205 with its evergrowing bills..

these are the standard 14" xsi wheels bud they are very similar to the 15" mi16 wheels though.

ive never weighed aset of mi wheels but i'd amagine there fairly close to the 1.9 speedlines

i'd like to either get a set of rallye steelies or 1.9's but ill see what pops up local

Mint. I built one of these about 5 years ago. It was an alpine white one, but based on the 1.4 XSi. Cracking car.

Is the engine std? The TU is excellent on bodies. And the 1.4 XSi box is a good match for the 16v engine (the 1.6 has longer ratios, as does the GTi one).

Could be an an excellent B-road tool.

yes the engine is standard, well apart from a filter and decat.

just booked onto a trackday at keevil for the 20th of this month so got a few things today sorted, replaced the pads, removed rear shocks as they are missing the rubber bit at the bottom and are an awaiting accident to happen, new radiator coming tomorrow, also need a trackrod end, then will be good to go.

yeah they do sound lovely on tb's. although my 205 rallye is on jenveys so this won't be on bodiesSad

will be interesting to see how it gets on at a trackday. are you replacing the rear shocks or just running without them? could be a bit of a handful without them?
