Hello chaps just a quicky really,

At the moment I've got a devil decat, with a magnex cat back and have the middle box removed (straight through) and I've got both the 3" and the 4" back boxes to suit.

I run with the 3" box on as the 4" is totally rediculous, my question is;

If I were to buy an exhaust tip from halfords say 2" or 2.5" and I got it welded onto the spare magnex box would the small outlet size have any detrimental effects on the car/engine?

Sound wise Id hazard a guess that it would be raspier and relatively quieter?!? But Im unsure.

I'm after the 106 pea shooter look. Cool

Any help appreciated before I got at it!
Happy

2.5" would be ok, I think 2" might be too much of a bottle neck as the system is quite large all the way up to the backbox.

IIRC the pugsport version of this system was 2.25"

On my Xsara it had a standard backbox which has a major pea shooter tailpipe. I cant say it felt like it was restricting power!

Standard systems are 2" ID with a baffled rather than 'straight through' back box and some nasty bends and squashed bits,so I wouldn't of thought a 2" tailpipe would be restrictive.

I'm still looking to do this but I want to have the tip, plate and welder ready to go, so I don't have to put up with the 4" for too long.

I'm also looking at a new decat/downpipe. Does anyone have any experience with the Peugeot motorsport 2-1 downpipe? made by magnex I believe.
