Hello!

First post here, but spent ages reading the forum looking for an easy soloution/explaination as to whats happening.

The car is a phase 3 HDi Meridian

Long story short the side of the drivers seat, the leather part, has worn through, so i managed to buy a complete identical half leather interior on ebay.

So i started with the drivers seat, being the knackered one, and took out the original. I hooked up the airbag wiring to the new seat and tested it by starting up the car. The airbag light didnt go out. so i tried resetting the ECUs (battery off) and it didnt work. to check the wiring i re-connected the old seat, and the light went out. tried the new one again, not having it.

I checked the wiring and connectors on the new seat and all looks fine.

so before i try and just swap the coverings, i was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

the pre-tensioner light goes out, just the airbag light that stays on.

Or the new seat you have bought doesnt have a airbag therefore creating the open/closed circuit to illuminate your airbag light

im not sure if its in there or not. they weigh about the same so im presuming its there, doesnt look like its re stitched.

is it a big job/difficult getting the covers off the seats?

It will only be a matter of time before the airbag light starts flashing anyway (common 306 fault)

Easiest option, take the clocks out and remove the airbag lamp Thumbs up
