Finally got a start on getting the rallye roadworthy for mot.
Passed with flying colours, repainted calipers red and fitted ds3000 pads. Today was dedicated to fitting the bodies and sensors for gauges.

Then started making a cardboard template for the inlet.

And then cut it out of 1mm alu plate.

Bought some trim edging off eBay for £2 a metre.

Finally after many test fittings to get angles wright and clearance on power steering pump got it all fitted up and I'm well chuffed with the result, big thank to my mate Jim it's bin a long day.

Just got injectors to fit, make up a linkage, wire up the emerald and finally fit a 16row mocal cooler.
Should be up and running next week.

Looks strangely familiar Wink

Nice job, get some supports on it though or it will fatigue along the fold line at the front and crack, also it looks a little close to the trumpets, you don't want them rubbing on it when the engine moves Smile

If anyone has any ideas about throttle linkage, ive got few ideas but a tried and tested would be better other than spending £100 on a jenvey linkage. Also as Willygti pointed out I as fitted some cage padding last week.

Ive never used jenvey throttles, however from seeing cheaper linkages on carbs you seem to get what you pay for. Someone else may know of something different tho.

Car looks very nice aswell!

i always thought that to fit throttle bodies you need to relocate power steering pump???

im running a jenvey linkage, as expected works without issues. i did once have a cheapo linkage on a set of carbs and had to be replaced with a proper one due to being unreliable.

yes there expensive but i don't think its worth skimping on somthing as important as the throttle system. i'd pay £100 not to have the throttle stuck wide open trying to brake into a corner on track.

p.s car looks great!Big grin

I've sorted the throttle, simple but should be effective. Had to reshape paddle slightly to gain a little more travel travel,

fitted fuel rail and injectors, hole and alu duct to feed throttle cable and air temp sensor.

won't that have a chance of slipping off the side?

could have issues with the filter though

don't buy socks, they tend to get inverted and the foam sticks to the plugs and you'll end up with a misfire and changing plugs. also sap a good bit of power!

Avoid socks, they are terrible. Saps the power and i have known them to get sucked in and jam the throttle body open. Could be worse than that and get stuck in a valve!

It's my car, and it has the PAS pump relocated to the brackets on the sump. The reason is to give enough clearance to allow the fitting of a decent sized dome filter as you can see there is little room for that as standard.

Well after a very long weekend and a very neglected misses Ive pretty much got it all sorted.
Made up and fitted new decat pipe (original one was too small diameter so just as bad as cat. Forgot to take pics but i think it's pretty tidy, plus fitted a new dohnut gasket, straight to back box now.

Got my cooler fitted up with about 2mm clearance on the fan, have heard about fitting oil rad should be fitted flat against coolant rad or it upsets the air flow. Not sure how to get round this if it's true without fitting a slim fan.

Thought I'd give the calipers a fresh coat of paint but driving it to the mot whilst bedding in the ds3000's they have decided to shit all over the fresh red calipers and turned them blackish.

Started fitting my gauges too, sensors are in place for oil temp and pressure and water temp will get pics up soon.
Engine wise: Finally gone everything set up wired up and running sweet with a map from a 205 with same spec producing 200bhp until I go to rollers next week.
But in true weekend car work not all went to plan and the ecu threw a wobbly and said no. So have to wait till end of the week to get it back now.
Will keep posted on what happens at rollers.

Well finally got the rallye back to life yesterday, after 3 weeks in the shed. Had abit if a nightmare with the ecu and a blown ignition driver so now running a coil pack and ht leads from a 406 turbo. Not my first choice but had to be down in time aloud for rolling road tomoz. I wil report back tomoz with power results. Fingers crossed, hoping for 190bhp.

Well a pretty successful day at the rollers, apart from my mates 106 rallye melting his spark plugs and chewing up his pistons at 9000rpm pulling 190bhp.
So started of my session on the the rollers shitting my pants about my car being strapped to the operating table and raped to 8000rpm.

Was hoping for a healthy mid 190's consider I'm running standard ex manifold and head just intimate road cams, 45mm throttle bodies and emerald.
Il let the graph speak for itself....
