wanting to put some semi slick tyres on the rallye but due to the rule changes on whats legal and not, i was wondering if anyone could point me in a direction on what they run and like etc?

as i understand it, tyres like the 888 will become illegal for "road use" next year sometime

888's FTMFW, the road noise does sound like all 4 wheel bearings have suddenly gone though!

the vosa guy that was in at us few weeks ago says there will be a rule coming in about track day tyres, just not sure when, but will be same as a 2yearly mot will never happen!

road noise, all i can hear is exhaust noise in mine lol

I have researched this subject and they will apparantly become illegal for road use on 1st November 2012....Yes

Out of interest, what did you research and what did you find out? I don't really see how "track day tyres" in general can possibly be banned, they're not in any way fundamentally different to normal tyres.

there is a larger surface area without tread thats all i can see and a softer compound.

all that will happen is yoko an toyo will make a road tyre almostthe exact same as there road legal track tyre id think anyway
