not really, pretty limited on spec due to the regs they were built to comply with, you can build much better from scratch for similar money.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

PM crf450, he has a touring car engine hidden away somewhere & he is in Belper near Derby. He can sort plenty of suspension goodies too.TBH though would you not be better off with a low boost supercharger set up. The supercharger kit can easily be swapped from one engine to another if you blow it up, if you blow a touring car engine it will cost a small fortune to fix. As for you can't use a supercharged engine in a 306 in a rally, I think that is incorrect. The way I remember it is that you can't fit a turbo or supercharger to a car type that has never had a boosted engine in it's model range. Luckily enough Pug made the 306 turbo diesel, so that should make boosted engines fine for rallying. That rule allowed Will Gallop to compete in European rallycross. Out of interest what is the spec of your car Conor?? ________________________________________ Get used to seeing the yellow one !!!Team 330™ Team "no front end or engine" Team "LIMITED EDITION" I live for the 306 sticker Team 0-60 in 6.44 & standing qtr in 14.808 @ 94.55mph all with std engine 203bhp Corolla T-Sport daily driver stealthier than Kwai Chang Caine |

that's not correct, from the Blue Book - 2008/265. Modifications are free within MSA Vehicle Regulations and as defined in 2008/262 to 2008/282 for those vehicles that have been homologated in: • Groups A or N of FIA Appendix J, or • Groups 1, 2, 3 or 4 of the 1981 FIA Appendix J, or • Non-Homologated Series Production Cars • Vehicles must be in the configuration as supplied by the manufacturer, with the engine (either production car engine or specialist Competition engine) in the original location and with the original form of induction (normally aspirated or forced induction) • The original means of forced induction is limited to the original fuel type. although... 2008/267. Other cars not complying with 2008/265 or 2008/266 may be eligible at MSA discretion. Approval guidelines for these cars are available from the MSA, but eligibility will only be granted for cars which retain the original manufacturer’s body construction and which have not been substantially altered. They must also be fitted with a recognised Production Car Engine or specialist Competition engine (as defined in The Terminology). 2008/270. (a) Engines must comply with C(-10. ( Forced induction engines must be fitted with a restrictor at a maximum of 50mm from the extremes of the compressor blades. I don't think a boosted 306 will be competitive at all, as it will be in the same class as WRC machinery, and 2.5l 300 bhp Millington engined vehicles running sequential gearboxes (Darrians and escorts) ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

So reading between the lines you can run a charged 306....Who said anything about being competitive If you can break into the top 10 you've done well, I've seen plenty of 2L novas etc do very well on single venue events, even outright wins, that's the thing about rallying, if you have a decent amount of power & a car that handles in the twisties your in with a shout. I wouldn't use a high boost engine for rallying though as gearbox failures would render it pointless unless it was a nice smooth venue. A 306 with proper brakes, suspension & 250 bhp would make a very nice rally car imho!

It's that old hat, that the FIA, under pressure from some manufacturers, cancelled the re-entrance into the WRC of the F2 Kitcar genre, of which the 306 Maxi is a member. Peugeot even commissioned Dimma to build, if i remember correctly, 95 new Maxis in readiness. These were available for £250,000 and would include 12 months Peugeot Motorsport support. Even now, they would still be able to give the 4wd WRC beasts a run for their money on the tarmac. ________________________________________ The LevellerTeam China™ Laurent Garnier "The Man With The Red Face" |

indeed, even though the regs were still very restrictive on the suspension setup so you couldn't technically run rear coilovers, or at least a turret, hence why the beam assembly they ended up making for them was easily north of 15k euro's ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
