i have 1998 turbo diesel 306,
i got a aftermarket keyless enty system and it comes with flip keys, when i opened my peugeot key i have a small black chip thing near the blade, now for the stupid questions, is this the imobiliser chip? and if i got the flip keys cut,, will they work without the chip? or do i need to get a copy of the chip and fit it in to the flip keys, and if i need to get a spare chip can i only get these directly from peugeot? or can i get one and how do i program it?

It is the immobiliser. You can get copies (with a key) from Timpsons.

so,, if i got a key for a 306 from the scrapyard/ebay for a few quid, took the chip out, took it to timpsons, they can clone my chip to the one i got?
