Thought I'd start a Mini project thread on two red Rallye's I'm trying to save.

The first is a T plate that has dropped a valve and needs a little TLC (new engine, new front carpet, Cyclones sorting and a few other niggly bits).

The 2nd was an S plater running a V6 conversion that i'm planning on returning to a 4 pot (track car Whistle ).

All thats currently been done on the V6 is engine removal and sale of the conversion that went to shimmy. Gonna start with the T plater as it requires the least amount of work:

Arrival:

Decided to use an engine I've had for a while. Its from a blaze 6 I broke a few months back that had a blown H/G. Other than this the engine ran fine and pulled really well so last weekend the strip/rebuild began:

An finally assembly complete

So today I pulled the knackered engine out and was going to drop the fresh one back in, but upon removing the old unit, it became obvious that puttin such a clean engine back in would make it stand out like a saw thumb LOL

Old engine out and the not so clean bay:

So a tin of GUNK and a pressure washer resulted in this:

And thats where its at so far. Will also get some pics up of the internals of the knackered engine when I pull the head off it.

Just wish I could be arsed doing something like pulling the engine out to clean it properly. Might do that to oecken's when it comes over for a clean up LOL

Ah mine and Adam's old Rallyes. Best of luck with the projects mate, I'll be very interested to learn whether mine did actually drop a valve or if it was something else.

Good luck Thumbs up

Managed to get a couple of hours on the Rallye today. Got the box mated up with a newer clutch and got the engine back on the mounts.

Swapped over the Rallye aux setup to the new engine (ac pump still needs removing) need to pickup some new driveshaft seals and a downpipe ring tomorrow and hopefully get it running.

Started to pull the old engine apart so I'll get some pics up of the damage tomorrow.

Was an option along with electric windows and possibly different seats (might only be Peugeot owned ones with that though). Wink
