I know there is a fair amount of threads relating to this already but I'm after some opinions.

Is it worth doing or is it a waste of cash?

Using the standard ecu and making a plenum for the MAP and ICV basically like the project that Yanni done. Although it has not been updated for some time.

I just don't want to pull my car to pieces get it up and running pay for it to be mapped and it ends up being shit LOL

I have run some before on an omex 600 but the bodies were too small i think so it went back to standard.

Is it worth a punt or shall i just save my cash?

worth doing only if you get a decent inlet manifold and throttle linkage done, and a proper map on the ecu.

Yeah,

ecu would defiantly be mapped.

What could be wrong with a throttle linkage?

Inlet manifold, I guess its just a cut down standard job. Then extend the length between that and the butterfly with hose and solid inners.

Where do you get said manifolds?

The throttle linkage needs to be modified between the bodies as on Yanni's thread, if this is not done correctly then the butterflys wont open together, there is a bit of adjustment to but it needs to be done well to be able to get them perfectly balanced.

Also you need to modify the throttle quadrent ideally or your accelerator is going to be like an on/off switch.

Manifold you will need to make yourself unless you are lucky enough to find one already done. To be honest though Imo you would be better off making one or getting one made from scratch than cutting a standard one down.

if you make the throttle linkage and quadrant properly there's n need for any pedal mods.
