I got some crystals fitted today and also a new hid kit.

everything is wired properly but it always takes 2 or 3 trys before they work. sometimes only one comes on.

has anyone had this problem, or knows how to sort it?

i had a different hid kit on my angel eyes which worked fine, i'm selling both on the forum and ebay if anyone's interested. However since going back to crystals with a different hid kit, i get this problem.

I purchased the kit for sale on this forum with 20%off so i can use the warranty if need be

you will get this with them all, there is NO WAY around it

the answer is because they are shit cheaply made chinese sets. mine do it. i have a f*ckload of ballasts in the foorwell of my car which are all broke / intermittent / flicker

you could try rigging them up to a 30-40amp relay, which i'll be trying, but you will always have it. everyone has it whyo has aftermarket hid kits, some even with OEM kits like bmw's etc

seriously. this hid ballast stuff is the bane of my life and i am actually waiting for some free ballasts from china (LOL) as replacements for some i bought which are broke (after about 10 uses)

i went back to normal bulbs after sometimes they refused to come on [either both or just one side] and flicker etc.. then bought another set Doh and still got all the same issues

The HID kit I had in my angel eye headlights was a cheap set from China and that didn't have a single problem apart from one bulb has just gone and it was cheaper than the ones from Matt on the forum! I got the ones from Matt because I didn't want to wait for delivery from China for my crystals.

I'm thinking about getting another set from eBay from China again as I didn't have any problems with my old set. If that then has problems as you suggest it will then I'll just live with 2nd time lucky turn on syptoms. I went back to standard bulbs for a few days when swapping lights back to crystals and I hate the yellowy bulbs now.
