I have recently replaced my rear pad carriers with 2nd hand items as my originals had worn/rusted so much that the retaining bar could just pop out and I was fed up losing pads.
Question is, can anything be done with the original carriers to make them useable, eg welding or are they now scrap?

If you mean the little tiny '8' clip then yes, the bar still slips out with it in place.

Are you putting the L shaped bar in the right way round? If memory serves me right (I'm an old git) one leg is longer than the otherDunno

Cool

I'm struggling to fathom them wearing out to be honest. One of mine is the original, going strong at 214K with original springs and retaining bar!

As above, is the bar in the right way round? New springs and such are available from motor factors.
