I have just got my hands on a little 306 which i am going to make into a GTI, but im just making sure every thing is ok with the car before i spend all my time and money doing so.
I found a cable coming from under the fuse box running to the drivers side door that had been cut, so i tryed to find out if was a earth with my multimeter but i blown a fuse. But now the ECU just keeping on clicking and have no lights or centrel locking.
What have i done and how to i slove this promble?

disconnect the earth and live for a minute or 2 and then reconnect. That resets it but does not neccasarily fix the problem. you need to find out why the wire or fuse is blowing

You sure it's not the relay behind the ECU? The ECU clicking (if possible) can not be a good thing.

Yes

The multi function relay behind the ECU is more likely. Relays do click away when faulty, don't think the ECU would Unsure
