Afternoon all,

I need to replace the bulbs which illuminate the heater control knobs because mine have stopped working, even after giving them the patented "bash the dash" test.

Anyway, my question is can these bulbs be replaced with LED's? If so, what type do I need?

If I can't use LED's then my next question is this, in Thugpuggin's FAQ it says that the bulbs come pre soldered into the bulb holder, which is fine. However, when I looked up the part number on servicebox it listed the bulbs separately.

Thugpuggin's FAQ wrote:
For these you need to buy the bulb holders, as the bulb is soldered into the holder.

So you can not just pull out and replace with the cheap bulb only approach.

The part number for these holders is 6112 54 and cost £3.81 each.

So, does anyone know for definite if they come pre soldered or do I need to buy them separately?

Any help would be appreciated.

The prongs from the bulb fit through the holder, then bend round the back and are soldered on.

You can replace them with LED's but i f*cked my heater control, now no bulbs light up, must have shorted something.

If you've got a soldering iron just buy the bulbs and use the old holders Thumbs up

So, if I buy new holders they should have the bulbs already in them?

oh and if they are separate bulbs go to your local motorfactors and ask for a pack of ten or so, they'll cost about the same as a bubble packed pair!

and most likely significantly less than a dealer.
