Right I am doing this to help a member out so I will do my best with pictures but as it was already fitted to my car they might not be amazing helpful.

This is the kit I bought:

First things first, drill a hole in the back part of the light that twists off.

Now place your new bulb into the bulb holder for the low beams. For this you will have to take the metal prong that holds the bulb in place out as there are wires attached to the bulb. Just squeeze together the metal prong and it will come out. Place the bulb in the right place and then put the prong back in place.

Next connect up the wires from the car to the block attached to the xenon bulb, the wire with the black in it is the negative and the other is the positive on the car. It should look like this

After twist the black back onto the light

Next connect up the 2 little blocks, they are obvious which ones the go into as they are the opposite to each other, just dont connect them up to each other they need to each go into the ballast if that makes sense.

Lastly either cable tie the ballast into place somewhere or drill a hole and screw it to the car. I used cable ties as I think this is sufficient, and plug the big plug into the ballast.

Just tidy up the cables and turn on your lights. Now admire your new luxary car headlights Cool

This is a picture with only the right changed look how much better it looks. Mine were 8000k.

Good info but your reflectors are incorrect for this type of bulb and what your pic shows is pretty much what everyone else will see on the road at night. And that is not good.

You need a projector system with an inbuilt horizontal filter to cut all the glare.

Thank you mate! I assume your name is Paul.

I've read through it but it still puzzles me a tad.

Basically, haven't you had to wire it up to the battery?

Also, my kit looks very similar to yours

However, I'm not sure where these blocks have come from? They're not on the car are they? And I dont have them in the HID kit.

"Next connect up the wires from the car to the block attached to the xenon bulb, the wire with the black in it is the negative and the other is the positive on the car. It should look like this"

So basically, can you confirm if anything needs wiring up to the battery.

And where the blocks have come from. I have a bulb with the two wires coming out of it, which come from the rubber seal ready to fit into the headlight, and I have the extra two wires connected to nothing coming out of the same rubber seal near the bulb. These plug into the block as above but where is this plastic thingme jog?

I don't need to cut any wires etc do I and create my own external plastic box thingy?Unsure

Can't tonight, or tomorrow, but might get time on Saturday to have another look. I might post up pics of my HID kit and what I have at the back of my angel eyes.

Its just the wiring up to the battery and wiring into the headlight relay that I'm unsure about. Connecting any HID kit plugs to the HID kit is simple as its all plug and play.

I probably sound like a right numbpty! lol

This block is part of the cars original wires. The original wires that plug into the old bulb. They have the plastic thing already attached to it. You will have two one for the low beam light and one for the high beam.

There is no wiring to the relay, I think your thinking that these lights are more complicated than they actually are, which is probably what is confusing you Whistle

By all means though mate take a picture if you are still unsure, I'll make sure you fit these eventually Smile

I've had another look tonight and come to a new perdicament (May be mispelt but you know what I mean).

I've worked out what goes where, but I'm now believing no one has ever put H1 HID kit in the angel eyes I have for my 306 have they?

Basically, the bulb won't fit into the headlight.

The standard H1 bulbs are fine, but the HID kit H1 bulbs have an extra bit outside the bulb that I don't think fits into the headlight (pictured here)

I'm thining about cutting into the steel bulb holder so that the outter wire thing fits into the headlight.

Also, can you confirm what wire connects to what. For example, I have a red wire and a black wire from the HID kit. All I need to know is which one to connect to where the bulb was connected to, and which one connects to where the headlight connection slots on beside where the bulb goes.

Currently updating some software so should be able to provide more pics and details soon, if not tonight then tomo.

The real question on my mind is...

Has anyone fitting an HID kit to these headlights?

Haha, yep thats what I was on about in the other thread. I had HIDs in my blaze, the car below and that had the same angel eyes doesnt it?

Thats got the H1 HID kit in it. So it can be done.
All you got to do is bend the metal pin slightly thats why its easier off the car for Angels. It will fit, you don't need to cut anything mate.

And as for the wires the black one will go into the one that has a bit of black in it.

I.E. like the picture above, I think its purple and black wire.

That should do it Smile

Think you'l have problems in those headlights AFAIK only phase 3 ones are suitable because of the different reflector and reducing the scatter.

FYI the Red is your Positive and the black is your neutral (earth) on the HID kit, Its been a while since i've seen a pug headlight loom now though you will have a red on it or a brown which is your live, and i 'think' should either be a grey, green / yellow which is the earth

I'd suggest a test light so you know for definate which is which

Your right but it can be done, its not going to break the kit aslong as your careful.

Im pretty sure mine had a black bit in it and the picture above is off my phase 3 and one of them looks like its got black on it.

If you struggle mate just post up what colours you have and im sure the'll match mine so can tell you which ones I have mine in.

Now going to try and fit the kit while I have the headlights off the car. This is what I have...

£30 jobbit from eBay.

General single beam installation diagram

H1 (High/Low) beam installation diagram, not sure what it means by 9004 and 9007

Everything is there, which is always a good start

The bulb in its protective case and the two wires that I believe need to be connected to where the current bulb is.

Will keep you posted. Hopefully now that I'm taking the headlights out it will fit..we'll have to see.

Before HID conversion
Clicky not working on this link..
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs322.ash½8281_10150206166875182_579355181_13411072_4884363_n.jpg

After I had put the bulb into the headlight I thought how could I replace the rubber cap at the back, so this is what I did...

This rubber bits not needed so that went

Then I cut a slot in the headlight rubber bit for the additional wires to exit

Connected the wires that went from the old bulb to the wires that come out of the same bit where the new HID bulb is. Connecting black to black and red to blue

Placed the rubber bit back onto the headlight. I also used a cable tie to keep it on and tight to stop any water getting in. When I put it on I made sure the bit I cut out of it was at the bottom, so that the water doesn't get in easily.

Now that the headlight itself was sorted, I went to look at connecting the HID kit to the car. To make life easier I disconnected the HID box from the headlight and the HID bulb

I used a cable tie to connect the box to the air con unit. And did the same the other side. This is just temperary as I will be removing the air con next week and will refit everything again properly.

I then reconnected all the wires, and completed the circuit. When I did the indicators, I remembered I don't have any wheel liners under the front arches at the moment (This will be sorted next week), so my life was made so much easier but putting my arm through the wheel arch to plug the indicator plug into the headlight again. You can get at it through the side of the engine but I usually end up nearly losing my arm!

I tested everything and it worked fine. So I went to the other headlight and did the same as above

BEFORE....

AFTER!

The headlights are at the perfect height too and there's no glare...unless you get low

Shame its sunny and still daylight, otherwise I could take a few posing shots to show it all off.

Thanks again Paul for your you help.

Might be worth sticking this thread up for a "sticky" so that others can use it in future.

Gave the car a good clean and now she's looks simply stunning!!

Can't wait until next week when she gets lowered a notch Smug Big grin
