Under acceleration my GTI6 is pulling to the right and then pulling left on decceleration, to the point where you could pretty much change lanes at higher speeds if not holding onto the steering wheel properly.

I've had a good read on here and the common thought seems to be the P Bushes.

I've had a look at the FAQ Clicky

Just got a few questions

1. How long does it take per side to do (approx) ?

2. Does the P Bush itself just pull off and push on when replacing ?

3. The other wishbone bush, is this easy to get out/in aswell as I could do that at the same time too

1, dunno LOL

2, no, you have to smack it with hammer+chisel

3, easy enough if you're a skilled hammer+chisel user, or if Like Boobies you like burning stuff then burn the rubber out of it them hammer and chisel for the rest.

I got my bushes for the ZX from Motaparts.co.uk, really cheap and as close to o.e as you can get for a fraction of the price Smile

Threaded bar a few washers and sockets, or a press Smile

the rear bush is easy, line it up, tap it on.

you might need to use a socket for the last few mm.

Euro Car Parts list Lemforder ones here.

Make sure you check the size you need, either 16mm or 18mm. They are listed separately on the ECP site.

I'll have to pop a balljoint out to check, guessing that they are 16mm as its a 98 R

Ok, so Lemforder balljoints from ECP and P bushes and front bushes from Motaparts or alike, but what make for those, Lemforder too ?

i cant remember what my local Dingbro called them

iv been messing around with wishbones i got galvanished.... you have your p bush, ball joint

i heard some people call them mushroom bushes, also iirc "front wishbone bush"

i just told the chap its not the "p bush" or "ball joint" and he knew what i was on about LOL

i never got Lemforder this time round Doh

i bought about 10 years ago the Group N bushes from Peugeot sport in the UK , (can't find their site now) the best upgrade i did .
the rubber was much stronger then the original & without any stupid caveaties.
it shuld last many years.

Regarding this, does anyone know if you can buy polyurethane P bushes and front bushes? I remember my Dad constantly changing the standard rubber bushes on his 110 over the course of years, then stumbling across PU ones and he never looked back: much longer lasting!

I think they need replacing on my 6 but I'm not necessarily after full-on group N/A/Z etc. mounts from Peugeot Sport or the like, just something that will last better than rubber...

Use genuine bushes (Citroen), the rest last about 5 minutes.

If you want anything else you will need to take the plunge and get roller bearing bushes.

the rubber used in Peugeot sport bushes is much stronger then genuine bushes.
but when i spoke with Andy at that time he said
that they stop producing new one for the 306 .
