Anyone used Poorboys products?

Opinions?

I have heard they are pretty good so have just ordered the below, will update with the results once I have tried it all out.

You going to use a rotary polisher or do it by hand?

Heard good things about Poorboys, thinking of trying some Natty's Blue myself Thumbs up

I have a rotary polisher so might give that a go. I'm no expert but don't suppose you can really f*ck it up that much? LOL

Depends how coarse the cutting compound is, if you take the lacquer off the paint you're fooked LOL

Mild compounds like Scratch-X and Swirl Remover will be fine though. Just take your time with it and prepare the paint thoroughly beforehand

its amazing the damage ya can do quite easily with a rotary polisher lol

emm i have the poorboys polish with sealant (won it and never used it)
and the wheel sealant, thats good stuff

I went for the 2.0 swirl remover which I heard novices can't do much damage with. The 2.5 and 3.0 are the ones you have to be careful with.

Maybe I'll start by hand!

wouldnt make much difference to the paint if you do it by hand really, i mean its not pointless but you'll be hard pushed to take many defects out by hand
there is a step between hand and rotary though, ever thought about a DA polisher?

Heard of a DA polisher but don't really want to splash out more $$$ as just spent £200 on this stuff Crazy

lol ahhh i see just do a test on a spare panel if you can let yourself get used to it

if you were closer you could have had a shot of mine, its abit old as i bought it before they became quite popular over in the uk

Yeah might try the roof first as that has some bits of lacquer peeling so won't matter too much if I f*ck it up.

It better look shiney after all this effort LOL

to be fair last pic is after wax an stuff
but you cant beat giving the car a good machine polish as it shouldnt need it again for a long while and the paint just looks and feels great afterwards

I use a DA with lambswool pads. Scratch/Swirl-X with coarser pads followed by Meg's NXT 2.0 wax with a softer pad (it has good filling properties)

Topped off with a couple of layers of Autoglym HD wax. Gratuitous product shot LOL

think i used lake country pads with blackfire compound then that refined by blackfire polish
then dodo juice purple haze wax followed by blackfire wet diamond sealant but that wasnt the best idea as the blackfire sealant doesnt really bond too well with the dodo juice

Will do.

Looks pretty good from that video, if it's permanent.

I got some poorboys trim restorer so will see how that goes, as a lot of my black trim is looking pretty faded.

i've never used that other stuff personally but heard people go on an on about it
only thing is its 20 quid an all you get is a 15ml bottle LOL they say you dont need much though

LOL yeah it best last a long time!
i'm guessing its important that you've gotta make sure the trim is completely clean no grease etc
might give it a try at some point when i got spare cash

I have been using the poorboys world stuff for a few years now and am very happy with the results for the price Thumbs up.

I use the #2 deswirler, Natty blue paste wax, and the Black hole glaze for the paint and it keeps her fairly tidy...





I won't use anything else now and it's easy to apply and remove even on a hot day Smile
