Right my mates six chucked a rod last month and he wants to build up an engine. We sourced a good block, used his old crank as it was a little end that had gone. Priced up all the bits to rebuild i.e. main bearings, big end bearings, thrust washers, seals and head set etc and have been quoted £420 without vat (just over £500 including vat), is this a genuine figure as he wanted 160 for piston rings alone! All the parts are standard size. If anyone knows of anywhere where i can get the bits cheaper would be much appreciated.
