my r reg phase 2 gti-6 has had an engine management problem since i've owned it, however i have tried nearly every sensor and plugs coil packs etc to no improvement. When under low load at 2000 rpm it splutters and misfires and on overrun in 5th or 6th it judders badly as well.
If put on a gas analyser everything is perfect even lambda etc (and i've tried a different lambda sensor)
If i carry out an ecu reset then the car drives fine for anything between a day and 2 weeks and then judders again.

Anyway i've tried various scanners and nothing will read it til today i borrowed an old sikes scanner from a mate and it read everything even live data! The fault code that came up was '00022 fuel/air mixture adaptation'
Anyone shed any light on this code e.g carl or someone similar who works on these all the time? Or is there an adaptation procedure i should follow?
