Has anyone run one on standard management?
Peter reckons it should idle fine but the mechanic and I are having trouble...
Going through all the regular things but not having any luck.

Engine was honed and re ringed and the head reco'd with stage 2? ( 226 deg. Duration, 0.0350" lift) with stage 1 exhaust cam( 215 duration , 0.0400" lift????)

Heard the same cam combo in an mi16 and idled fine on standard/chipped management.

Different animal though....

Appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.

Bill

Im not farmiliar with the standard duration , but if these have a fair bit more duration you may need to fiddle with the pullies to sort the timing out.

Sorry forgot to mention that.

Timing set at design advance.

Mechanic was pretty nervous advancing it a much as Peter had advised but we are certainly in the ballpark as it runs pretty darn well except at idle.

I thought he says on his site that it won't run with standard management...? Even the stage 1 inlet cam! Thats why I went the V6 route rather than sort my blown engine and drop one of his cams in.

I have a stg.1 inlet cam and I had to buy a standalone ECU, as with the original ECU the idle was stable, although the ICV wasn't able to cope with the modification, so whenever I slowed down before a junction it stalled.

And as nobody could remap the original ECU here I had to buy a standalone ECU.

Ohh... and the power difference is even more immense with a remap Cool

You have just stated my exact symptoms thank you.

I am really looking for excuses to go aftermarket ECU. I think that's broken the camels back though.

Start approaching installers tommorow!

Thanks all

Update. Idle issues solved.
Stepper motor the culprit.
