My 3rd GTI-6/Rallye but this is the first one I plan on actually doing anything with, so here's a project thread.

Here's how she currently looks and how she'll pretty much look for the near future.

Lovely. This is her better side. The other side has taken a bit of a kicking

Mechanically however it's all good news, engine is perfect, ditto the gearbox, brakes and suspension. The first job was to sort out the ICE. I'm such a chav.

The unit in there worked well enough but I had a decent Kenwood knocking about so that went in.

Old unit

USB connection needed a hole in the glovebox.

Dave needed a coffee

Fitted. I need to hunt out a surround for it but it's not bad

No sound from the drivers side door though, so the issue is with the speaker. Time to get the cards off

Right, there's no speaker in there. I've been mugged off! LOL

Also, plenty of f*cktardary in fitting the window motor. Hmmm, well at least it's an easy fix on the window front, I simply swapped it into the right side. Done.

You know it Ash.

Weight saving idea was on the menu today. On relection it's best to have doors, I did wonder if I could legally drive without them though.

The loom for the drivers door is, in short, f*cked, so that's on the list of things to grab. I will therefor be road tripping to a good breakers at some point very soon

You look like you're praying to the 6 and blessing it...

How cheap did you get it for?

The bod in the picture isn't me, it's Keir of this very forum. The blazer is more of a jacket. He did actually look at buying a diesel Saab a couple of years back...

Found that someone has completely date raped the original speakers in the parcel shelf and fitted some 16.5" efforts in there which look pretty damn good, therefore they're moving into the front.
