my friend has a 406 coupe with a 2.0 16v engine in it.

he claims its an s16 engine but it doesnt look like one! it has the plastic like cam covers and the s16 has the black metal ones as far as I know.. he has done the usual boy racer mods! Cool lol such as power boost valve and ecotech LOL.. think he needs some assistance!

I have a feeling that the engine is the same as a 306 16v xsi but im not sure! can anyone confirm this? also if i was to replace the plastic inlet manifold with a gti6 one including throttle body etc.. and also exhaust manifold... would he get any good gains from this! thanks people!!

Yes it is the same as the XSi, 135 odd BHp.
Yes he would, but he might as well buy a good V6 and its fairly pointless on something weighing that much. Fuel economy would be about the same at about 30mpg as well.

GTi6 engine is also fairly simple as a conversion.
