Decat + straight through mid + 4" tailpipe = raspy and bangy

although the overrun on the 6 is a lot leaner so you might not get as much as a paxo..

my exhaust atm is decat with a custom stainless system with a 3inch tail pipe and a pretty big box on the center section

was thinking maybe replace the center section with a race tube? would think it would be pretty raspy ???

Ive got magnex decat, straight through centre section and 3" magnex backbox.

Sounds quite raspy, not sure if I 100% like it yet, need to hear it from outside really! Get the odd pop but not many.

Gives your ears a beating thats for bloody sure! LOL I wear earplugs on long journeys now!

Don't bother - I've just removed a really cheap and nasty (oval) back box from my XSi, precisely because it popped and banged on the overrun i.e. downhill off throttle.

Replaced it Saturday with a decent pattern (clamshell) back box from Auto Equip Pieces (great eBay seller btw) and the car is transformed.

You're welcome to my old back box if you really want this sound - nasty rasping/popping sound guaranteed! LOL

I have a decat, racetube and peco backbox and it is raspy but seems to make a really bad blowing kinda noise between 2.5k and 4k which i really want rid off, It does bang and pop but only after full throttle,

So what would people recommend to get this even on a low rev gear change?

Abit commfusing with all the above mentioned

I've got a standard cat, then a straight thru pipe to a Powerflow backbox. It's loud, it's boomy, it drones and it's annoying - until you get above 4.5 - 5k, then it sounds pretty damn nice. Some slight burbling/popping on the overrun too, although I'm sure I'd get a crapload more if I decatted it.

As it's technically my wife's car though, I'm going to swap it out for a standard system ASAP.

You will only get flames from an exhaust if it is overfueling as far as im aware. Just adding an aftermarket exhaust may not do the job No

apparently in order to spit flames you must de-cat it and change the back box... the centre can stay as its straight through anyway (u can see through the silincer) is better to just put a straight pipe in but not necessary. and second will normally only do it on overun and you must b raggin the granny out of it!
