Get in touch with Pipercross, they do universal backplates and dome or sock type filters for TB applications Wink (You will need to make your own holes in the backplate though as no-one seems to do an off the shelf fitment)

You can get either ITG or Pipercross items off the shelf, same fittment as a XE 2.0 Vauxhall so just ask for that and it saves the drilling Wink I can supply either if needed.

When I spoke to Jenvey about where to cut the holes, they sent me a diagram from a XE Vauxhall, I don't see why they couldnt of cut the holes for me though LOL

What trumpets are you using and what overall intake tract length?

The Colin Satchell set up i am having has bespoke trumpets turned to be a press fit into the front of the bodies, on the back lip of the trumpet bell ends (i said bell end haha) it is flat and has threaded holes in, so when you mount a filter plate you side the trumpets through, bolt them from the back then install the trumpets into the bodies.

Intake tract length is a very crucial tuning aid, you could have a top spec throttle body set up, but with the wrong tract length will see very minimal gains, or a loss of power where you dont need the loss to be.

Its not longer for more torque, or shorter for more top end either, there are certain perameters you have to be within before you over lap so to speak.

ideally the intake tract i 'think' would be 'x' amount foot long, to get the pulse tuning to maximum effect wherever you wanted it set up to be.

basically evertime the pulse wave goes forward and back when the valve is closed, it looses 'power/energy' if it only had to go back up the tube once, then back down it would have the maximum amount of 'power/energy' left in it for pulse supercharging, thats why you get higher than 100% VE figures sometimes at certain rpm's on N/A motors. With intakes as short as what is used on cars the wave normally goes to and fro 3-5 times i think on average, depending on particular set up, each time losing some of its power/energy.

I don't see the big deal with drilling the holes yourselves guys, it's pretty easy, get a scriber, hold the bodies in the middle of the backplate, scribe around the holes and get busy with holesaw/files/drills/teeth etc. LOL Voila!

Somewhere around 370mm from valve seat to trumpet end seems to work pretty well. The port is about 75mm deep, so everything 'head' out needs to be around 300mm to trumpet. Really depend though if you have a stock rev limiter/spec engine or a 9000rpm screamer, where you probably would want a shorter tract length.

Clicky <<< intake tract length prediction, you can get better % but with longer intakes, this one is designed to give you the best average for what room it normally available under the bonnet.

I dont know how to put it in easier terms.

As the intake charge is being pulled in with the valve open, its obviously moving, when that valve is closed, the air hits the valve and a pressure wave is reflected back up the intake tract, when it gets to the open end (trumpet end) its reflected back again (something to do with high and low pressure areas) back down the intake tract, it will do this several times, to and fro whilst the valve is closed, if it is ideally timed (dependant on the length of the intake tract as to when the pulse is on its way back down) for when the intake valve is opened again, it will actually force air/fuel into the combustion chamber, rather than just relying on the sucking force of the piston, so you effectively shove more air/fuel mix in than you would 'just' from the sucking action of the piston.

Hope that makes some sense.
