Hi all,

Before anyone points me to the search section, I've already visited there, but can't find specifically what I'm looking for.

I need some advice on which pads to look at for my Rallycross car. I've been using OE pads & discs for the last couple of seasons, which have worked adequately. However, I am in the process of supercharging it now and will be using full race slicks as well, so I and thought I'd better get some better pads.

So, what I'm looking for is the pad that will have best performance from cold. This is because my races are quite short (only 3-4 mins) so I don't have much time to generate much heat.

Also, ideally I'd like the pads not to have to be bedded in. I've read some reviews that say that certain pads take a good few hundred miles before they really start to perform.

So, it's over to you knowledgeable lot now!! Smile

Thanks in advance for any help.

I always found carbon lorraine pads (RC6) to bite straight from cold, i never did much of a bedding in procedure for them either.

I agree with Sean, they don't need bedding in and although they work well from cold they are even better when warm. RC5 are even better from cold but not as good with stupidly high temps.
Mintex F6 are excellent, although Pagid RS42 Blue could be your best option as they are like a Ferodo DS2500 that lasts forever!

I use my Rallye for sprints & hillclimbs so I also need pads that work well from cold. I currently run Ferodo DS2500 fronts and Pagid Blue rears on std calipers with Brembo oe discs. This set up works very well from cold (good bite) and remains fade free on track days too (with AP racing fluid). I have tried EBC Green stuff and Genuine Pug pads which where OK but not fantastic.

I found DS2500s to be cracking from cold over 40k of road driving and fade free on the few track sessions I did.

Thanks for your replies guys. I think DS2500 or Pagid blue sounds to be a good starting point for what I'm after.
