Where is the central locking sensor. Its not up in the reading light panel, like the phase 2's??

It's built into the security module in the bottom of the centre part of the dash.

Whats the problem?

It has stopped working over the winter months but not sure when. I had an earthing problem and an alarm problem which drained the battery , so i kept locking it with the key to give me more time before the battery went flat.

I had it at lynx garage and was told there is a signal from the fob but it wouldnt re-program using a diagnostics machine. He said it must be the sensor thats knackered.

Given the circumstances a failure of just the RF receiver is unlikely. It sounds more like a code sync problem to me. Have you tried the manual re-sync procedure in the handbook?

Also, did you give Lynx the security card? Phase 3 fobs can't be programmed without the security code.

I expect the fob needs a new battery, and resync using a Diag machine.

Had to do the same to mine recently
