Has anyone tried any of the knockoff peugeot scanners on ebay?

It looks to me like they've copied the cable and are using it with hacked/cracked software. If it works its probably the cheapest way to get diagnostics for the 6.

Does anyone know what functions you can do with the dealer software? Can you read live data?

I have considered it a few times but have never got round to taking the plunge. As you said it could be a very cheap option if they work.

Hi mate,

If everything does add up on this "import replica", then it is a bloody bargain. You can do quite a bit with it; reading faults on all ECUs (not just engine), live data feeds, programming keys and radios, wiring diagrams, function tests and more.

The only thing I'm assuming you can't do is download new software for the latest models (although I doubt you're going to do that).

If you do take the plunge post up a review, as I am quite interested myself now....

Cheers.

Considering the price I doubt the genuine pug edition is an option for anyone not running a garage!

I'd imagine the ebay cables are a direct copy of the pug original and no less safe than the thousands of "VAG COM" leads on ebay that come from China.

My main concern would be whether the hacked software works correctly and what you need to do to get it running.

interesting.. was seriously looking at the diag2000 / pug planet stuff and taking the plunge with a mate not long ago but would rather have the software legit regardless

isnt it you [anderoo] who had an orange looking handset/interface different model diag tool? someone posted one up on here a bit ago about one that works. my mate runs various ones on his other cars but they are simple setup and not the can-bus setup i presume, he can do all the live reading and stuff. regularly take his f*cked mg-zr out and admire broken sensor readings LOL

Yeah, I've got one of the autel FR704 tools which reads and clears fault codes on the 6 engine/airbag/abs.

Unfortunately the advertised live data functions only work on OBD2 cars, so I'm still looking for a cheap option for that.

TO be honest it is the lead that is worrying, the software is the same software it has just been made to work for free. If the lead works then the package will work.

G'Day all,

I got a lexia3/pp-2000 ebay chinese special ebay seller - mkchip-autodiagnostic - got here yesterday. So far so good, software is interesting to install to say the least!
Long story short- It works on a GTi-6, reads live data, does not provide the advertised logging function Sad, not with the 6 anyway. Reads and resets error codes.

Found my ignition was retarded by -2 degrees and fixed it! after scaring myself and setting it to -8 degrees before working to how to reset it!

Thumbs up from me! Cost was about AU $220 delivered.

GOD how things have changed since I posted.

I have bought one. IT reads live data and resets fault codes on the GTI-6.

IT would not read my mates 1.8 ECU though.

Can you post up a screen shot of the live data? I'm interested in what data it outputs.

I will post one up when I get the chance.

It displays things like lambda voltage, air temp coolant temp, ignition timing, TPS position etc.
