I got my SC-6 rolling roaded today. I was expecting a bit more ponies than this. They did say their dyno gives lower results than most but I think that is too low. If anyone has a magnex they gould lend me for a day or two PM me please Whistle .

As you can see from the AFR vs Boost graph it is fuelling fine, maybe a little lean at higher revs but not too bad.

Scoobyclinic were great and I would recommend them.

That not a good gain over standard then ? 60 Bhp up on standard ? what do low boosted ones usually run ?? still an impressive figure mate

O_o??? Well, i was planning in low boosting my 6 in the next year but I would expect at least 250hp. So it might be wiser to go directly HighBoost. Has your 6 been done by rich and Lynx or did you charged it yourself??

It was done directly by lynx. I was expecting closer to 250-260 if I'm honest. I reckon my exhaust will be sapping a few ponies but surely not that many.

That's weird in fact. I was also expecting 260 bhp with the LowBoost setup. When low boosting, there is no need to upgrade the engine's internals, is there???

You would be surprised , a good free flowing exhaust will benefit , im used to Corsa's with C20 Let's and with say a standard system for a corsa ( aftermarket ) just wasnt big enough for the extra power , getting a custom one certainly free'd things up and some more power ! . Dunno how things go in the world of boosted 6's though exhaust wise.

No, it uses all the standard internals.

It's making about 7psi which is about right from what I can gather. Hopefully Rich or someone will shed some light on things.

Mechanical Engineering. In my third year now, it has taken me the best part of a year to get all the parts together.

Yeah im sure they will do mate , what sort of bore is the current exhaust ?? again on C20 Lets you generally had to run anything from 2 ½" to 3" depending on spec to get the best out of the exhaust.

It's currently 2 ½" but has quite large silencers and a baffled backbox. So i'm pointing the finger at this at the moment. I may buy some pipe, bends and boxes and make one up to save moeny and test that.

That's cool mate!!! I'm in my first year (from 5) for translator/interpreter. These whole 6 Supercharging storyes on the forum are drivin me nuts.... Would so much like to charge mine right away.... but hey.... can't have everything. Just p*sses me off seeing my mates who already work driving their focus RS's, R32's and Clio sports. Sad

Would love to fly past them and their expensive new cars in a Carged six.

YEah could be the culprat restricting it slightly , i used to run a staright through from the turbo to a back box but was baffled enough not to be too loud but not restrictive at the same time , sounded immense on 16 psi of boost !

Certainly liking the idea of a S/C conversion though . Going by what your saying you get good gains just for low boost set up with no aftermarket cams, pistons, rods etc...

Based on the calculation that BHP = torque x rpm / 5252 your bhp figure would be around 270.

Personally i would suggest it has more to do with the rolling road calculations rather than there being anything wrong with the setup.

If you slowly accumulate the bits it isn't too bad. I tried to buy second hand wherever possible. I haven't really played with much yet but it should leave standard examples of the above behind.

So is yours the same as mine apart from the exhaust setup craig?

Normally its the intercooler setup that restricts the bhp output but i think you have the same size as me?

I have the small forge IC and 2" pipework, the boost pipe to the manifold was cold to the touch so the IC is cooling adequately. They did say the bends in the boost pipes will cause restriction at such low boost though. Do you have any rolling road graphs?

My curves seem alright they just go too low Sad.
