Yes, but thanks god for the Vanos change in the S54 from the S50.

different Vanos's in the E46 from the E36 3.2 Evo, not prone to failure Smile

ahhh vanos vanos vanos Meh that's not true whatsoever though about e46 failure vs e36 failure LOL i have seen plenty of E46 vanos issues first hand; rattling, shearing off the front of the whole engine, emptying the oil in 10 seconds flat from them, unable to idle the car etc... the vanos issue is overrated though and people start replacing them when they get noisy and they rarely actually "fail". you always get noise from the gears over time as they wear and also the seals split

BUT DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE VANOS

my M3 is on it's 2rd vanos and i have rebuilt this one twice down to sealing leaks on the solenoids. yes they're not cheapbut you don't buy something like that and expect a

To be fair you have spent a wedge on sorting it Rikky. Much like the Cambelt and crank pulley problems on the Gti-6 theres a lot of misinformation and speculation which is bound to put some people off.

If you think is slides a bit in the wet you should try it in the snow! LOL

I have the same wheels on mine and they are in a right state now. Thinking about getting them powercoated (matte black) to stop it happening again.

Not to p*ss on your fire but... e46's rarely make 343bhp.. I rr'd a fewSmug(dont get worried when you see 270bhp at 5500 rpm REDLINELOL.. as DSC needs deactivating properly before you run it)

and if you want vanos.. please strip a e90 V8.. f*cking work of art that engine and i have bits of it all over the kitchenNinja

My old man ran an E46 M3 from new for 5.5 years. Fantastic car but you sure need deep pockets for those things! Until it started breaking, it was the most wonderful companion, the rasp from the straight 6 is awesome and if you're quick enough to keep up with the back end on wet roundabouts, they're a benign and chuckable machine. The old man now has an E92 M3 and it's honestly dull by comparison. Enjoy it!

straight line drag.. it can launch harder with less slip and such a flat torque curve...

but very similar specs... 220bhp/tonne 0-60 5 ish seconds.. an i think it'll hit the same top speed as i had 150 on gps with ease on mineYes

They were running 14s ¼ miles at pod.. so very similar.

My customers have a few tuned ones which have the edge on my ASTOR... but i shift like a granny these days.
