Cabling? Any broken wires? Is plug actually making contact with the wiper motor correctly ?

Roll eyes That's where I'd be looking nextSmile

Wire was split in the wire from the auto sensor to the plug behind the dash, must have caught it when swopping the dash over.

All sorted now Smile

if the car has auto wipers as standard.. and has the windscreen replaced.. and a non rain sensing screen put in, obviously without the sensor connected, can this stop the wipers working correctly? i.e. only on one speed?

Yea mate, it would just be like what ive just done.

The sensor is part of the system, so if its missing, its not going to be working properly.

If i was you, i'd just get a sensor, plug it in and just let it dangle inside the bulky bit of the mirror, or try and get something to stick the sensor to the window, or... get a proper screen fitted.
