Just bought a Gti 6 a couple weeks ago that needs a little bit of tidying replacement slam panel and bumper, i have started it up a couple times and it seems to be producing a lot of water out of the exhaust.. i looked out for this when i brought it and it seemed ok and when i drove it back it drove fine with no problems or excessive fumes/steam.. but this is starting to bother me a little. I revved it today and seemed to spit out loads of water Sad

If worst comes to the worst and it is the head gasket gone! is there some sort of performance (better than standard) gasket I can get to replace it? and would it be easier to do all of this with the engine out or in!

Are you actually losing water from the rad? Could be just condensation in the exhaust?

If its not been out for a drive for a couple of weeks and got properly warm it will chuck out what seems to be alot of condensationWink
Best thing to do is not keep starting it up and leaving it idle sat still, wait till you can take it out and get it warm properly Smile

If it is the head gasket that requires replacement, it much easier and quicker to carry out the work with the engine still in the car. Yes

Stan.
