Nice work Carl! Just read the whole thread as well, can't wait to see the finished article!

How expensive was that sump, sh*t!!!!! Good to get the oil leak sorted though. Talking of welding (on the old sump) - have you got your welder back yet?

Ha yes mate it's back and won't be going anywhere in a hurry again. Ready when you are.

Cheers

Well done on saving a Cherry Rallye though. Shame you couldn't have saved the one near me thats sitting in the scrappers waiting to be crushed. It's only done 63k and its bloody lovely Cry

I really was scared to show you where it was that day, didn't want to admit that it could be a rallye with closer inspection. Engine bay was mint looking too.

Done a cracking Job Carl - what a turnaround and it'll be a fantastic car for one lucky owner. Graham BUY IT...cough... Razz

If I had the cash you wouldn't even need to advertise the V6!

Lottery ticket needed! Then I'd turbo it too!

Well i have been umming and aring regards the ride height of the car but personnally for me it was sitting way too low, i decided to do something about it and now it clears the hump coming out of the garage and the lower trim on the bumper sits at an acceptable height, i adjusted the rear 10 and the front 25mm.

Took the old girl for an mot this afternoon, the first real chance i have had to drive it on the road and it very surprising how responsive it is.

Got to the test station 10 minutes early (its that fast LOL) and took some snaps, the car had a wash and a full body polish before it was let out into the rain, still looks fresh surprisingly.

Well here are the pictures just before the mot test-

As you can see in a few of the pictures the bonnet needs adjusting slightly and the back box needs altering due to it sitting that little bit lowerdue to the 406 gear lever unit and cables, as we speak now its on the ramp having these bits looked into.

A few pictures whilst in the test station-

Even the tester comented on how the conversion looks a nice neat tidy job, he especially like the new sump and nearly laughed me out the garage when i told him how much it cost me.

At first the car received a fail but after a bulb, sort the washers out and a few exhaust rubbers i got a pass.

Might take it home tonight, the v6 hum is addictive.

Just got to get the interior cleaned, may give this a valetor to do as Lee kindly mentioned there were some white stains on the passenger seat i dont really want to get stuck intoLOL

Carl

should have said decent drivers cope fine with P6000's Carl Whistle

looks good though just a shame about the smoothed bonnet, looking standard would be awesome. Fair price though so hopefully not too many c*nts will take your purchase price away from the selling price call the figure profit and start talking shit about it LOL

Thanks for the comments guys, yes missed out on that one Alex, even my low mileage motor has P6000s, i rate them to be honest.

The number plate was a christmas present, its not sold with the car just thought it looked apt, and the car is on tradeplates there so the number plate is not used.

Thanks for the comments.

Carl

You have 2 plates now then? getting as bad as me!LOL

cant see why you rate P6000s I found them shocking on my low mile rallye!

This looks great now but as others have said Im not a fan of the badgeless front.

You cant beat the growl of a V6! Would love a test drive of it to see how it goes, the V6 in my 406 goes fairly well so in a 306 shell it must be great.

Its so effortless you can pull away in almost any gear!

If it wasnt red I be knocking on your door to buy it! not a fan of red.Smile
