,,i had this happen before and i used the search and found the answer to my problem ,
i used a jetwash today to give my 6 a xmas bath
so i gave it a bit of a run on the way home to move lots of the water of and hit the redline in second and the engine management light comes on , so i unplugged the coils and plugged em back in again and fine ..

is this a sign of my coils packing up , because they shouldnt knock out just from a slip onto the redline should they?

i diddnt do under the bonnet,
i do the arches at the moment on the front
i do a lot at the back but theres no lecys back there really , not like the front,

not as far as i know its a standard 6 atm
the last time it happened it was dry as a bone as well,
and the engine was dry when i had to unclip em,
so im pretty confident in ruling out the wet lecys idea ,

could well be a coil pack on it's way out if everything is nice and tight and bolted in right then that would be my guess

has it ever misfired?
IE run rough because it's only running on 3 cylinders?

could try taking out your spark plugs and having a look at them?
