I now have about 15 of these gaskets in stock, and plenty of bolts - so for now, the previous supply issues are no longer a concern.

Please PM me if you require any more information or would like to place an order.

Thanks,
Rich

They are a 3-layer gasket - as is the OEM Peugeot item.

Multi-layer is just one of those buzzwords that get's dressed up and thrown around, when in reality the majority of gaskets are of multi-layer construction.

The thing that makes the difference to the performance and durability of a gasket is what the 3 layers are made of, and what's been done to them prior to sandwiching them together.

These are the best you can get.

Regards,
Rich.

I'm having the AA out to confirm my finding of a failed head gasket then ship it off to Carl's Tue-Wed

how soon would you be able to get a gasket with bolts to him?

providing it is the gasket but i'm 95% sure it is!

Dave

It’s nothing like a Cometic, I can assure you that Yes

Main differences are:

• This is designed specifically for the XU10J4RS engine. The Cometic XU gaskets don’t fit the RS engine well – you have to remove the rivets that hold the 3 layers together, because they fall in locations where the head / block are in direct contact with each other.

• The biggest, and IMO, the most important difference is that these gaskets have a large flat washer [effectively a 4th layer] between two of the other layers. This washer acts as a fire ring around the combustion chamber, and due the increased thickness at this location, additional clamping load is exerted on this washer, creating a mechanical seal around the chamber.

Again, it’s IMO – but I don’t think the Cometic gasket for this particular application is any better than the OEM gasket. The materials are obviously better, but in construction it’s identical and relies on the swaged profiles to make a seal.

Have used lots of head gaskets to destruction, I would rather use an OEM gasket than a Cometic – at least it fits properly!
