My front o/s brake has started Squeeking. The disk and pads have got loads of life left. How do I stop it?

take it apart, clean them, put them back together.

Plus a bit of copper grease on the back of the pads just to be sure.

Had to do that to mine on Sunday

but may only be a temp fix, done this to mine, about 4 weeks later back to squeakyville

If you 'chamfer' the edges of the pad this tends to help. I'm pretty sure it's not pad-specific and it cured it on the lotus. Essentially you just sand an angle to the edge of the pad so the angle at which the edge meets the disc is no longer 90 degrees- if that makes any sense? It stops the resonance vibrations which are essentially causing the squeel.

Pm me for more details- I had mine done for free during a routine service at a garage but very simple to do yourself- definitely re-copper grease anyway though as said before Smile
