I had the knackered rear beam on my HDi DTurbo swapped for what was supposed to be a good 'un off a GTi some 2000 miles ago. Lowered approx 30mm at the same time to match the Eibachs on the front. I was never particularly happy with the result - and the replacement beam is now on the way out too...

Given the fact that I've started a new job and am covering 1500 miles a month on bumpy rural roads I need to get this sorted once and for all. I can't afford for it to go again so don't really want to go the secondhand swap route.
I also plan to take the suspension height back to standard...
A full refurb seems the only way - but I can't take the car off the road for more than a day at a time due to work.
Fortunately I've still got the original beam so the plan is to get this refurbished and then get it refitted to the car.
'Retro Revival' near Nuneaton seem favourite to do the work. (

Guess it depends just how fooked your old beam was. Too knackered and its pointless refurbing it.

What made you unhappy with the result?
