Ive been looking through the above threads 'Trying to do my Research' and found out nothing that i needed to know.

As the Above people, i'm doing a conversion on my Xsi and apart from knowing that the blocks are pretty much the same, i also know that i need to replace;
Inlet Manifold (on way in post)
Exhaust Manifold
Ecu
And Cams
However..... I went to the scrappy the other week, found a 406 with what appeared to be a 2.0l Xsi engine in it and found that it had the 16v badge stamped on the Rocker Cover. I compared this to my Xsi Rocker cover (which does'nt have the 16v Badge) and found out that the bolt fixings are different which indicates to me that i would need to replace the entire Cam carriers etc.... therefore suggesting to me that the GTI 6 engine must be pretty much the same
taking this into account, how far would i have to go to avoid placing a GTi engine into my bay??
And also would the GTI head be a straight swap?

Unsure If you avoid buying one and taking it anywhere near the car then you should be safe Yes

lol, i like a challenge hence why doing a conversion. But surely if the block is the same then it should be a straight swap on the Cylinder head right?
