No worries on the question mate but this really needs to be in the Transmission room......

To answer it most 6's have quite a heavy clutch. My Mum's c2 feels like it hasn't got one when I jump out of the 6 and into the c2...

But if yours is solid "as in you can't move it" then Yes something is wrong.

Try a search, there has been a recent clutch thread regarding how hard and what cures it ok.

So many threads on this...

All 306 clutches are relatively heavy, GTi6 being the worst as it's the biggest.

The HDi has the same clutch iirc.
Cable normally the problem along with other parts of the mechanism needing greasing (noT possible with the box in place) Thumbs up

It could well be just down to ware on the clutch plate, I found mine was very stiff before I changed it, I tried the cable first which made little difference then the clutch. Even though though the clutch wasn't slipping I think a little ware causes them to become heavy which I believe is alot to do with the push type design of the one piece clutch cover and release bearing.

If I changed mine again I would fit something like the old MI16 pull type clutch plate/cover bearing, you would also need the shaft that acts on the bearing and probably an old type clutch cable, I never had any problems with this set-up (GTI-6 box and MI16 engine in a 306).

IMO it depends.

Most GTi-6s I found have a heavy clutch. Mine was quite light compared to all I drove but not quite as light as a hydraulic clutch like the Focus etc.

My Meridian is slightly heavier than my GTi-6 was.

If you do change the clutch change the Pivot bushes. An overlooked part that takes seconds to change (and grease) when the box is apart.

Don't grease the fork bearings. The heat is too great and it will just dry up and make the fork even stiffer.

Even a high temperature grease will dry eventually as it isn't sealed.

I'm pretty sure it's the fact the cable is so close to the ehaust and causes the cable to become tight . I know that's the case on the hdi ..
I have a gti 6 engine in my 106 and it's fine not hard at all . Could be a coincidence I dunno
