A friends 6 starts and idles fine but when blippimg the throttle it starts to rattle from the top end quite badly. All compression figures are 190 plus on all cylinders. Plugs were all tight and look fine. The engine had been sat up for a while before being installed from another car. New filter and 10/40 semi synthetic oil was put in. Could it be a stuck tappet? or am i just putting off the inevitable bent valve conclusion?
Any help much appreciated

dont know about the tappets, but check the top engine mount, prone to cracking badley, which makes a knock noise when revving changing gear etc... worth a look for free Thumbs up

also search for top engine mount, some of the threads have pic to explain better.
