I've got the E84 model one.

That diagram helps a bit, allthough i have the wireing loom already wired up and labled, i just dont know which connectors im surrpsed to plug into the 3?

Where abouts would i likely find them in the 6 engine bay? Hmm

power will probably need a 12v feed
dash could be anything, like a shift light or something

relays could be to feed the fuel relays (mine is like this, send a earth to the fuel relays)

i also have fan control too,

Pics of the loom?

Hit another problem, took the cover of the top of the engine, and its got one plug per cylinder for the coils. The wireing loom only has one coil plug, how do i get aroung this? Do i need to get an adapter to make it only one plug?

Would i be able to get one off a standard engine with leads if they fit?

If i can do you know what cars i would be able to get them off. I dont have the coil pack and leads so would need to get them before i can put thebodies on etc and wireing loom.

Cheers

Only plug we have left is the crank sensor plug, is this the one located towards the left of the rocker cover? The 3 pin plug?

Ok, What happens to all the wires that are disconnected from the old ECU? there arnt enough plugs on the new loom to plug them in so they all connect?

Ive taken the old ecu out, im assuming anything connected to the eold ecu will not work?

the 306 loom will be of no use when using the dta ecu/loom. All you'll need is the 2 wires for the reverse light switch on gearbox. You won't have connectors on the dta loom for some of the engine sensors, eg purge canistor.

the dta wiring diagrams will explain everything regarding 12v supply, relays, tacho signal etc

Yeah but there are like 3 of 4 connectors on the throttle body, one is the tps which is ok i had a cable on the new loom for that. But all the other 3 sensors dont have connectors on the new loom and i cant see its right that the bodies only need the tps connecting?

As said above, some of the factory ecu sensors wont work. I also dont think the fule relay has a connector on the new ecu, i think i willleave it to a garage.

All you need connected for it to run are:
Air temp
water temp
coil pack
crank sensor
throttle pos
injectors

Then
fuel pump feed / relay
Taco
earth
12v feed

You wont need any of the other sensors. just overide the idle control valve

is this for a throttle body conversion? If so, all you'll need is the tps sensor and possible air temp for the induction side.

How does it work though? Bloke seemed to think the ICV was for the servo assistance? And it was needed on the manifold as its the only place you get a vacum.

Wont it run like balls with no MAP sensor also?

Cheers

As said on bodies unless your taking Weber one's you don;t have a ICV or MAP so I think I would avoid any advice by your mate personally as he's barking up the wrong tree.
Coil pack wise just use one from a XSi, much neater and no messy HT leads

Look at what DJ's posted about what you need to run the engine is very little and it does surprize allot of people

Say for example I wanted to fit the bodies and keep the standard ecu and loom, until I can get the loom fitted and the new ecu remapped, would this work or would I have any problems, provided I connect the tps sensor?

I know this would not be idea and is not intended to be a permanent solution.
