hi folks, im needing a cambelt tensioner and water pump for my gti6 lump, and ive been told that theres 2 types of tensioner

any chance someone can tell me how to identify which tensioner i need so i dont buy the wrong one, many thanx

get your build code of the strut top area on your car, phone your local pug and they can tell you what it is you need, or remove the belt and count the teeth thenorder correct 1 its either 137 or 136 teeth

I'd just get the 136 kit regardless of what's on there now, though do check, and if it is the 137 kit you need to order the stud for the tensioner.

Plastic tensioner - 137 kit = crap.
