I been planning on selling the GTi-6 for a few months now but my other 306 which would take over as chief car is running extremely rich. The cat is brand new and there are no apparent leaks in the exhaust. The Cat snapped in half several months ago and the car was left standing for a few months. The car is a 1.4 8v 1998 306 TU3JP.

The exhaust stinks of petrol and it failed its MOT on emissions and I have since been unable to get it sorted. I took it to a Peugeot specialist for diagnosis who said there was an ECU Error code for lambda, 3 lambdas later there was no improvement so the ECU was blamed for "switching to fast". The ECU has now been cleared by a local ECU specialist who uses simulators to mimic an engine and observe the ECU's behaviour. All the basics have been checked such as Plugs, Air filter Coolant TS etc but again to no avail.

What would be my next course of action? It has no Tax & MOT and I need to get it back on the road ASAP. I

I'd change the oil and fit a new CTS.

also check that the vacuum pipe to the fuel pressure regulator isnt damaged if there is one.

Air leak is a possibility, I assume the only way to tell would be to replace the inlet manifold?

I changed the oil and fitted a new CTS. The car doesn't appear to have a FPR. Think im gonna just take a wild stab and replace the injectors and fuel rail to see if it will sort it.

Cheers
