im after a bit of help and advice on sealing the crank end cap, i was told by pug there was no seal and just use this loctite sealent i bought from them, but after removal there looks to be a sealCrazy , do i just apply a small bead to it and put it on the top surface where it looks to have worn away??

im told i shouldnt put any on the face where the crank cap tightens up as it may create a small gap??

can anybody help as i havent got a clue what the correct procedeure with this is now
here are some pics after removal::
Unsure thanks

thats the hockey stick seals, there's one each side and must be cut down so they stick out by 1mm precisely, no sealant.
