So the 6 has been given the cold shoulder for a while due to lack of funds and depressing winter weather.
I have now decided to go for it and get the thing sorted.
Jobs to go are as follows:- Engine re map,De Cat pipe, Refurbish rear callipers as they have started to bind, Sort the crappy wheels out and get some 16" pro race 1.2s, Change the front suspension for something that has some life in it perhaps Bilstein B8s as recommended by a few chumps on here.
Thats just a small ammount of things but enough to keep me busy for a while.
shouldd be starting the brakes this weekend as long as the snow buggers off.

So i left work eairly today and decided to shovel the snow off the drive and start my rear calliper refurbish.
I had a little trouble getting the brake pipe nuts undone, but a squirt of w.d and 10 minuits later they came undone without rounding off.

Here they are off the car

then a close up

Thought i should show the conditions i had to work in, brrrrrrr Ninja

I've managed to get one calliper finished, but will have to finish the other one tomorrow as it got too dark and cold for me, i also discovered i need a new handbrake cable on each side and also rear pads might aswell be replaced with new ones. "Oh how i love to spend on the 6" LOL

parts with calliper prior to fitting them in.

callipers finished ready to go on the car, i will also remove the carriers and give them a lick of paintSmile

all primed

and then top coated in diablo red with 2k laquer

While th paint was drying,
The next task was to remove both heat shields under the car and the centre console in the car to gain access to the handbrake cabels, was nice and easy to remove them both, should be able to pick these up from pug tomorrow as i had to order them.

So today i set off to find some handbrake cabels as pug let me down, and ended up getting some from motor parts direct Smile
put them on the car, replaced the heat shields and set about getting the carriers fitted along with the new pads, not forgetting a bit of copper grease on the back of the pads.
I had a prob with this as i did not realise the pistons were ment to be twisted clockwise to put the pads in LOL
anyway much head scratching later got this sorted then bled the brakes and cleaned the discs up with some thinners, Job done Smug
