you don't want the earlier one, hose is a crap design and unavailable, late type still is.

Phil from Advanced Radiators emailed today 23-08-19 re bulk buy from Ordonez.
Regrettably the Ordonez factory is still closed for holidays for another week.
Once they reopen and he gets some communication, he will relay the outcome.
Anyone wanting an Ordonez radiator may need to wait... for a while....
sit tight

Just had replacement aluminium radiator fitted, sourced locally. However hose connection is leaking as there are 2 small holes ~*outside* critical joint area. Is push version with spring clip.
So am stuck with search for replacement bottom hose. Is Ph3 2000, have been trawling rad/hose threads on here and poring over parts nos.

Can anyone help ID-ing the old hose if I send them pic, and tell me what is still available to order? and where from? and does currently available hose design require tweaking?

nb Advanced Radiators only do the radiators, they don't supply bottom hoses.

Right folks here's the definitive reply it seems about radiators from Phil at Advanced Radiators (as of 18-9-19):

"Good afternoon all,

Finally heard back from Ordonez, only to be told they have stopped making this model now and have no plans to re-open production.

Whilst waiting for their response and in an attempt to support the group, we've been trying to source a high quality brazed aftermarket radiator. Whilst not Ordonez, in our opinion these aftermarket brazed radiators would be more suitable rather than the mechanically jointed radiators that appear to have flooded the market place.

After a fair amount of digging, none of our manufacturer are able to supply us a brazed version now, which is a real shame for the group as unless there's old stock still out there, members will only have the option of the main dealer or the mechanically jointed version that is still available.

Thank you for the opportunity once again and sorry we are unable to help on this occasion. If we can be of service to any member with regard repairs, please mention this correspondence with myself and we'll do our best to support you with competitive prices.

Alternatively, feel free to ring and ask for myself."

then, they add this from internal correspondence:

"Valeo is as good as any to be fair, however it's a shame they've gone down the mechanically jointed route as well.

Out of interest, is the group likely to be able to pool a load of old units? I can then go to the core manufacturers to see if they'll re-open tooling on the basis of us buying the heavy duty copper cores in bulk, then we could re-core each old unit in our workshop like we did back in the day.

I've bcc two other members of the group in to this email also, just in case this is a possibility."

I managed to source a new aluminium rad via Wolverhampton Radiators, and a hose thanks to Carl /mechanical_repairs who kindly despatched the one remaining from the nether depths of CG Cars stores. Phew. Not least as we all know you can forget main dealers, NLA, NFP etc etc etc.

However, for those who may need in future...

I'll reply to Phil and thank him very much for his efforts, and tell him I've posted his relay & internal correspondence to this thread.

Can someone explain the difference between a brazed radiator and a mechanically jointed?

And why not go for a Nissens one? Have one and it is doing it's job very good. Better than the OEM one I have at least.

Yeah, I've ordered one last week and it came through as the proper type, not like the one you had delivered. I think the genuine lower hoses are NLA at the moment though

At the 2-3 dealers I contacted they are most definitely NFP (& therefore NLA!)

I've one, possibly two Ph2 Xsara VTS radiators I could do with getting recored.

The core is the same as the GTi6/Rallye, it's just the tanks on each end have an extra mount points of a Ph1 Xsara/GTi6/Rallye. A replacement radiator for a Ph2 Xsara VTS is impossible to get anymore.

However, I've been told by a number of radiator specialists that a radiator with plastic tanks cannot be re-cored. Are we saying that this isn't the case?
