It's 15 years since his death today.I still remember the daySad

I wonder what he'd have made of the shenanigans in F1 today??

I'll also mention the other fella, that died the previous day, (or was it the day before) Roland Ratzenberger. May he too RIPSad

I remember it well also, it was a strange day, a strange weekend really. A horrible thing to happen to both drivers.

Both videos are extremely chilling. Especially the Ratzenberger video as you can see he's already gone before the car comes to a stop.Sad

Yeah, that whole weekend was horrible from start to finish.

Rubens Barichello was knocked unconscious in a big accident in practice on the Friday and then of course the accidents on Saturday and Sunday.

Sad

I just watched a video on Youtube of the Rubens crash. He's lucky he's still alive. The speed he took off at was incredibleCrazy

RIP Senna
Awesome driver, probably the best, schmacher was inspired by him, and he was a better driver than hamilton in the wet, if you want to know how good he was have a read on wikipedia.
Also gave millions to charity.

Could you at least try to post in the right section, and try using the search before starting new threads. All the information you want already exists and it'll elicit a much more positive response from the rest of the members on here if you put a little more effort into researching yourself before asking daft questions.

I agree, Senna was so limitless, spiritual and generous & the best racer of all time, however he is gone unfortunately and we can only "hope" there will be someone even close to his talent, ie Lewis Hamilton to which Senna is his idol, and obviously British !! Wink

I remember watching this, i was 13 at the time. Very sad indeed, and almost scary to think 15 years has past.

F1 and motorsport on a whole was great during this time. Its gone down the pan at the moment. WRC isnt what it was, BTTC isnt what it was and although F1 is getting a little better is also isnt what it was back then.

Cant find that doc on bbc (red button), anyone point me in the right direction?

Well I couldn't find the Senna thread on my phone so.....just saw Senna documentary past night. What an amazing film, was just fantastic to see real racing......the car's sounded better then for sure, pure driver skill at work too!

Senna would turn in his grave if he could see all the technology nowadays impacting on how fast a car is! The in car footage in Japan on the video is just awesome!! A must watch

I also remember watching it. Just shocking at the time. I think it's very hard to compare him to drivers of today, though, because the cars are so different. RIP.

I've got this at home too. It's amazing to see how exposed the drivers were back then. Head and shoulders above the cockpitBlink It's no wonder people were getting killed Sad

Yeah, it was horrific, especially seeing David Purley trying to save him and just not having any support from the Marshalls.
