I have a 99 VTS gearbox for my 205 conversion and need to know if the MI16 Helix fast road race clutch will fit the conversion all ok.
I am having the 1.9 gear selector arm and clutch arm fitted im just not sure on the rest of the conversion.
Im confused about the push/pull type clutch.

Any help is appreciated.

What 205 are you putting it into? Or rather what type of box came out of it?

sounds like you're going about it the right way, remove the pull clutch arm+shaft and cable bracket and fit push type shaft and arm, push clutch outer cable bracket is part of the gearbox (where the pull cable's guide bracket clips in)

MI16 helix should work perfectly fine with that arrangement as long as its a 1.9 Mi16/BX 16v push clutch, though tbh the Valeo

Rather than creat a new post, I just hoped someone can clarify the following.

I'm going to be running a VTS box on my J plate 205 (reverse bottom right), so what clutch do I need? MI16/BX16v one, or is there any way of retaining the existing clutch?
Thanks

There is a way but its more hassle than whats it really worth. You need an Mi16 push clutch with a 205 BE3 gear selector arm and the same clutch fork and arm. I suggest you try searching the 205drivers forum to get the whole conversion details.

doesnt have to be from a 205 box, ANY BE3 that runs the push clutch will have the right arm+fork.

Take a look through the gearbox forum or modified gearbox forum. Also there is a 205 drivers google search function and if you search you will find it, i dont have it on this computer's favorites, sorry. Shalmaneser has a thread about it too.

Right, rather than start a new thread I thought I'd bump this. I'm converting my 6 box to a push clutch, am I right in saying that I just need the push type release arm, shaft and fork? And will this clutch fit? Clutch

Looks to be the correct kit yes, I'd personally look for a Valeo over luk though. It's sometimes easier to search for a Citroen bx gti (16v) clutch, there's less chance of ending up with a pull clutch off a 2.0mi16 then Wink
You may find you need different clutch arm bushes to match the new arm, there's a few types of bushes with different offset holes.
You'll also need to sort a different cable I'd imagine, good excuse to bin the w**ky auto adjust thing!

The auto adjuster is one of my reasons for doing it! I'm probably looking at a Sachs or Valeo clutch, the luk was just the first one I found that looked correct in dimensions etc. I'm going to be using a 205 release arm and shaft although I'm a little confused about the bushes now.... Where's Denis when you need him? As I know he has done this conversion! You've no idea which bushes I may need have you Allen??

Whichever ones were fitted to the arm originally, I know on 205s there was a changeover year. They're either white or yellow, the arms have longer prongs.
Whatever box the arm comes off, check the colour and order some up, very cheap from memory.
