How.....

...much effort would it take to give your thread a meaningful title and post in the right forum?

Anyway, it's probably around

Thread resurrection i know.

Whats the real difference to that then ?

Also does the ECU have to be the original one from the original car when doing the ignition on and unplugging procedure ?

Cheers.

bear in mind it'll relock if you put it back into another 306 though which has the immobiliser function so you need to either chop the immobilsing pins off the loom or put it into a car where it won't relock

Like the 205 conversion, i know that putting it in another 306 the immobiliser will lock again, i'm just wondering if any 306 Ecu's apart from the PH1 can be unlocked from any other 306 gti6 ?

I have a 306 6 car, its key fob for it,its original ecu for it, not sure what a transponder is ?? and i have an unlocked 6 ecu needing unlocked cheap by myself. Will i be able to with this lot ? Or do i need the locked ECUs original key fob and transponder to do it ? I thought i just needed to pull the ecu away when ignition is on then its ready for a 205 and not for the 306 ?

Cheers

You can unlock most the ecus by yoinking the ecu off the car with the engine running. It will relock as soon as its reconnected to a car with the transponder fitted though.

Failing that if its a none runner I can unlock the ecus too.

Pretty much all ecus can be unlocked manually, some are easier... some are a nightmare (the sagem ones that are filled with resin goo!)

Youll need the matching transponder box / key with chip from the car your ecu came from to start the car.. from there you can unlock it. Without the missing bits youll need to send it off somewhere Smile

Ok, say you have a fully functioning gti6 and you want to use it to unlock an ecu.

1) Fit the ecu you want to unlock
2) Fit the transponder box that goes under the dash that matches the ecu
3) Remove the transponder pickup ring from the barrel but leave the electrics connected.
4) Put the key that matches the ecu inside the barrel.
5) use the usual car key to start the car, the ecu, trasponder and fob inside the pickup ring are all matching so the car will start
6) Disconnect either the transponder or the ecu, it doesnt matter. With the engine running.
7) The ecu is now unlocked. Reconnecting the ecu on a car that has a transponder fitted will relock it, so dont do this.

Hope that cleared it up Smile
