So yesterday was an eventful day..

turned up at waynes for the first time in 7 years of sending him cars etc..

as he and rich were the developers of this low boost kit, it made sense to take advantage of his expertise.

Note the porka supercharged... can only imagine the silly power.

then this beasty came off the rollers... Belonging to Jamie Webb from the bmw racing championship... a funny bunch of elder menLOL

Inspiration engine and intake design gives me an idea..

then this weirdo tuned up.. he specifically said to put this pic up to show his guns!

and he bought his kitchen with him in the back of mummy's poloLOL

All good bro!

After a few lunch breaks the KTM crossbow came out of a lorry to have a quick tweak...
Then it was time for the beastyBig grin

After a long convo with wayne, we knew there wasnt much peak to be had but he made a run on riches ecu... with a result Big grin

I was happy with that, as it shows the generic low boost eeprom is really good at producing power.. the dip at top was timing being pulled, prolly due to my lucas 440cc injectors.

Having only logged a few hours worth of AFR readings upto wayne i told him where it was running rich etc and he set about work... this is where the genius cap comes on... and coming from a fellow engine tuner i can take my hat off to him respectfully.. But he has been in the game since 1988!Whistle The look on the faces of waiting people whilst we talked ignition and fuelling was hilarious..

There was a few issues with the new TPS i wired up last minute but was soon sorted.. He seemed very happy with the build and was more than welcoming with penguin biscuits and teaLOL

7pm and it was ready for final run..

Result 264.3 Bhp at 145mph.. which works out to 6700rpm if im right... Smug With a 9bhp increase at the wheels peak. 63f temps was well contolled... means winter she'll be making a bit moreWink

Decided to drop the redline to 7400 too as it meant gear changes were bang on power.

Havent taken a scan of the graph but its gained a 20bhp in the dip itself and so much smoother to drive... with peak coming in earlierYes Which is everything i asked for! Hopefully the MPG will increase as its fuelling alot better Big grin

Hats off to wayne again...

Coming soon... a resprayNinja

Not so sure lol, i think the torque would win, trouble is getting the power down with the turbo, almost impossible with only 300bhp never mind 400bhp which will be done soon enough

Not comparing to rich because he is high high boost so to speak, never seen him do a quarter mile time, i know he ran a 13.2 i think, no wheel spin problems at all??? highly doubt that, once rolling i think would be quite close.

update:

after lots of umming about a new back box i decided to take the plunge with the centre exit system..

the system on there was a 2.5" manifold back to scorpion box.. which sounded very boomy but amazing on WOT! as the scorpion inlet was just 2", this was sapping power but obviously helped the midrange torque! so i decided to go 2.25" backbox to increase a little flow as the midbox is only a 4" one for a tune.. The lads got straight to work and positioned the box nicely after i made a rough cutout for the tailpipe..

After a lot of fettling we set about sleeving the actual tailpipe to make it easier to remove etc..

Once it was centred and on, it looked just right..

Although its a big fat shiny thing and the bumper hasnt been finished yet(smoothing and filling of the oe cutout i quite like it..

I think i will be getting it chemically painted black so it blends in a bit better..

As for the noise, lets just say its burbles lovely and sounds sweet cruising along... more than 20% throttle and it sounds very erm... LOUD! So the plan for a big box to dampen it has not worked...

But i'm gonna wrap the whole system anyway, should protect it a little better over winter too Smile

thought you said you were going to fit a BIG rear box? that's a small one LOL

have a peek under Carl's BTCC 306, or a 206 gti180, or an E46 M3...

lol i knowYes But this was the biggest with as much clearance...

im planning a carbon rear diffuser as im sick of the parachute effect on the rear bumper..

i dont like the idea of the fuel tank at the mo, so i may delete the charcoal purge from ecu and get a custom in car tank which is better in the long run if i went high boost!
