Sounds nasty, glad you got it sorted though.

Getting the right RAC guy answering your call-out can make all the difference - I was in an old school car once and if it had been a young guy raised on modules and diagnostic testers, we'd have been f*cked.. as it was the guy wasn't so hot on ECUs but he knew his way around a pair of solex carbs and an old pushrod fuel pump like the back of his hand. Cool

Out of interest - how many miles would you say you did on the belt? I keep hearing stories of people going through them, I've done about 3000 miles on mine so far.. fingers crossed! Shut up

If the top hats on the sump are there, you should get quite a bit of life out of the belt. I've done 6k on mine and all is well.

Ive had a few belts snap and come off, very scray, esp when they slap around the engine bay and deposit rubber everywhere LOL

oooh errr!

Don't fancy that very much, is there not enough tension provided from the standard tensioner and the bracket could be redesigned to space the rollers a little more do you think?

The 1st few belts got destroyed because the powersteering pump down the bottom was out of line, so it kept chewing the ribs and shreading belts.

The 2 afterwards i believe shreaded because they got hot/soft and i had been up and down a drag strip a dozen times LOL

The first belt I had on my supercharged six jumped a rib after a few thousand miles and I lost the outer bit off the belt -still worked fine and don't really know why it did this, got a new belt off Rich and this one has been on for over two years and over 12k of motoring with no problems whatsoever Smile

Just a little update..

carbon wrapped the wing mirror covers as im still waiting on my geuine carbon ones!

May just retro some electro folding mirrors soon as im tired of folding them in on street.. Came out ok, although i'm not a big fan of the matt lookNo

Finally got round to hooking up my rear view camera... What a ball ache, things were a lot easier to route without the seats in last time.. Got it sitting in the boot badge/lock thing at the mo.. Was a ball ache to drill through double skin metal.. Will be fillering and smoothing to recessYes

Perfect setup with my JVC head unit, as it has built in video in/reverse signal.. Got it to feed video as chase camBig grin

Problem was with the reverse gear signal, hooked up with no probs to the reverse gear switch on bellhousing of gearbox! but it wouldnt switch over... Multi meter out and its working fine.. hmmmm

After a quick reset of the headunit i realised i didnt set it up for reverse cam switchLOLDoh...
Got it set for a wide view...

All thats left to do is get a front cam and a DVR for when it goes on track Smug

think we are all a bit crazy doing things to a french tin that most wont...

we've been on the forum long enough to know the common threads, questions, answers... so swaying another direction is always a good thing... Do think we neeed a supercharged section though SmugCool
