What made you buy this car? One of my friends had a Phase 1 XSi which I quite liked, and I tagged along when he went to the local dealer. There were two Rallye's on the forecourt, a white one badged as a GTi-6 and the red one which I ended up buying. A couple of days later I went for a test drive and put a deposit down.

Modifications (Exterior) None

Modifications (Interior) None

Modifications (Performance) Devil Decat and Xsara washer jets

Best moment? When I placed the deposit I was living in a slightly dodgy part of town but planned to move in a months time. As a result of this I asked the dealer to store the car until the move was all sorted. The dealer was very understanding and stored the car for a few weeks, but needed payment by the end of the month. So when I picked it up I had already paid for it a few weeks beforehand, and so just had to get the keys of the dealer. At the time it felt almost like a free car.

Worst moment? I was a bit concerned when the engine picked up a ticking noise, around the time a couple of other members had had problems with cambelt snaps and the associated tapping. Obviously I was worried that there might be a problem with the head, which normally cost a small fortune to fix. Luckily a post appeared on the forum that mentioned that their spark plugs become lose and start to tap, less than half an hour later it was fixed.
